Things I love...toys, pics and lit up faces

First of all-how are all of you doing with Christmas shopping? I am DONE!!! I feel SO much better now that it is all out of the way, now I can just enjoy my month with the kids, work on a few handmade items after they go to bed while my hubby and I watch movies and drink hot cocoa and relax.

CSN stores made it super easy for me this year too, I was able to pick up some things that my kids are absolutely going to love, at some pretty great prices too I might add!

My 4 year old has been obsessed over Abraham Lincoln ever since he learned about him in pre-school and thinks that log cabins are the bees knees, (of course he doesn't use that expression...who does anymore? I personally think it should come back, along with 'the cats pajamas', because that is just fun to say).

He will be opening some Lincoln Logs on Christmas morning (he thinks he's getting a drum because of the shape of the present, he must think his mommy is a glutton for punishment).
My 2 year old always plays with my daughters Melissa & Doug magnet dolls, but they are girly and I know he is going to be absolutely thrilled with this Joey dress up doll, (I KNOW he will love them, because he already saw them when he opened all the presents the other day, and was so sad that I wouldn't let him keep this one). CSN stores has great prices on Melissa & Doug products, and they of course are absolutely the best toys out there.

Another Melissa & Doug toy, this one for my 6 year old, but I know the other kids will be playing with it just as much. Is there anything more fun than pretending to make cookies? (well except for maybe actually making and eating them). Have I mentioned the great prices and fast shipping? Just $15 and some change for a high quality wood toy-fantastic! My four year old has also been asking for some 'noculars', so hopefully Santa will slip a pair of these into his stocking. My husband loved that they were camo pattern, good quality and such a good price-Santa might need to pick up a pair for him too!
Thanks CSN stores for helping get such a good chunk of my shopping done!

I have been a busy bee with trying to squeeze everyone in for holiday card pictures. This is one of my absolute favorite families, and I love that they wanted their pictures taken in front of this bright yellow wall-how fun is that?!?
One of my favorite traditions that I've done for the past 4 or 5 years is take a picture of each of my kids with the Christmas lights. They never turn out perfect, but to see their little faces literally light up with excitement for the holiday is one of my most favorite parts of Christmas.

And lastly, I am going to be joining the awesomely talented women over at The DIY Club as a Dare Blogger this next year and they are having a fun party over there now. Share your spray paint projects and get the chance to win 6 new cans of pretty spray paint from Krylon. :)

Pretty in Paint

Hope everyone else is feeling the joy of the month and the season, and getting in a little extra snuggling time with the ones that you love. :)

I have to admit, where my kids can't read this comment, it isn't quite as fun Christmas shopping when I can't buy toys! I LOVED buying toys when my kids were little. Shopping for teens and young adults is much more challenging, so I am not started.

Loved your idea of Christmas light pics, wish you would have told me 25 years ago! :) Will pass this tip on to my daughter who is a young Mommy. It is a beautiful tradition. Thanks for a sweet post.

Hello! I am a follower of your blog, and have been for a while! I am reaching out to the blogs I love as well as my readers for a little help and advice. I was nominated a while back for the Top Blog of the Year on Blog Guidebook. I am now in the top ten, and to reach the final round, which is the top TWO, I must beg and plead for votes. If you could in any way help me out, maybe if you could throw a bone to me on your blog, or if you require, I can do a giveaway! I have to find methods to gain voters and your help in some way would be greatly appreciated. Please met me know either way,as well as any ideas you may have. Thank you in advance! My blog is http://danajeanward.blogspot.com and the link to the voting page is www.blogguidebook.com. There is no registration, signup, or email required to vote, which is great, but finding routes to gain supporters is tough! I look forward to hearing from you!
