Little Boy Camo Toy Storage a la Dollar Store

If you head into a Dollar Tree right now-you will most likely see a whole lot of Easter stuff! Among these things are some Easter baskets that worked great for my little 5 year old egg hunt themed party-but still transferred over into a cool boy basket-rather than a girly pastel basket.

I thought that these camouflage buckets would work for way more than just a place to put colored eggs!
My boys needed some storage for some of their smaller toys-they've been storing them in my daughters pink and purple plastic buckets and I thought these would be just the ticket...with a little makeover of course!

First I made a frame of painters tape on one of the baskets-I didn't bother measuring or anything-just made what I thought looked good.
Then I took out my handy chalkboard paint and painted inside (and apparently all over) the frame.
Then instead of making frames for each of them, I just immediately peeled it off the first and placed it on the second, painted it and then repeated for the third and fourth. Ran some errands while the buckets were drying...Then I prepped the chalkboard surface by rubbing it all over with chalk and then erasing. Then labeled each of them with what they would now be holding! And if you make a camouflage bucket for little boys toys...at least one of them needs to hold...
Right?
I think that for a buck you'd be hard pressed to find cuter and more 'manly' little boy toy storage than these! My boys love them because they can carry them around-see what goes in each one-and the best part is that they are not pink!

You should run to the dollar store today, before people actually start thinking about Easter baskets! :)
